By creating an account or using the LabLink platform at joinlablink.com, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You must have a valid institutional email address (.edu) to create an account. Researcher accounts additionally require a valid invite code. You must be at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Platform. By registering, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.
Students agree to: provide accurate academic information (name, GPA, major, institution); submit applications only for positions they genuinely intend to pursue; honor the electronic signature attestation — by signing, you certify that all information in your application is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge; and not submit applications on behalf of other individuals.
Researchers agree to: post only legitimate research opportunities affiliated with their institution; provide accurate descriptions of position requirements, compensation, and time commitment; review applications in good faith; not use student application data for any purpose other than evaluating candidates for the posted position; and comply with their institution's policies regarding student research appointments.
You may not: use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or applications; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; scrape, copy, or redistribute Platform content without permission; harass, discriminate against, or harm other users; or attempt to circumvent the Platform's security measures.
Student application materials are shared with the professor who posted the relevant listing for the sole purpose of candidate evaluation. Professors agree not to share student application materials with third parties outside of their institution's normal hiring process. Students understand that their application materials will be visible to the relevant researcher upon submission.
LabLink is a marketplace that facilitates connections between students and researchers. We do not guarantee that any student will be selected for a position, that any listing will receive applications, or that any match will result in a formal appointment. All placement decisions are made solely by the relevant researchers and institutions.
The LabLink name, logo, and Platform design are the property of LabLink's founders. User-submitted content (applications, listings, profile information) remains the property of the user who submitted it. By submitting content to the Platform, you grant LabLink a limited license to store and display that content solely as necessary to operate the Platform.
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. LabLink is not a party to any agreement between a student and a researcher and is not responsible for the conduct of any user.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LabLink and its founders shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, as the Platform is currently free, is zero).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont, without regard to conflict of law principles.
We may update these Terms as the Platform evolves. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
